VillaE

The project is located on a plot of 2,342 m² in the town of Eze and more precisely in the district of La Colle à l’Est. Leaning against the hill, the plot is located on the edge of the avenue de Lattre de Tassigny. The south-facing plot offers, thanks to a steeply sloping topography, an unobstructed view of the Bay of Saint Laurent. Various terraces, sometimes buried, take up here and there the topography of the plot. On the site, there is dense vegetation with a few trees. The volumetry of the VillaE is designed according to the topography of the land, offering a maximum view of the coast. Its simple volumetry thus makes it possible to limit as much as possible the modification of the natural terrain and to preserve the wild state of the site. The project is defined in order to follow the contours of the land and to ensure that the buildings fit in respectfully.

There are three levels in the project: the "access/parking" level below (avenue de Lattre de Tassigny), the "main house" level and finally the "guest house" level. The car park and the main house are connected by an underground lift and are therefore invisible from the outside. In addition, an outside stone staircase connects the 3 spaces.

The main house is built on the same level but is divided into two parts: the night part (bedrooms/bathroom/family room) and the day part (living room, kitchen). These two volumes, typically opposed, are articulated internally at the level of the family room which is a buffer space between the intimacy of the night part and the open character of the day part. On the outside, it is the garden that links the two entities.

The underground parts consist of dry-stone facades, of the same appearance as the terraces, in harmony with the surrounding buildings. The roofs are vegetated and take up the land of the site. Sliding wooden panels close all the glass façades. The suspended part of the main house is made up of two concrete slabs tinted in the mass and coloured in the stone, identical to those of the terraces. It has a green roof and three entirely glazed facades.
